Say Hello to Catie Stewart


Catie graduated from BYU and has been a pediatric nurse at Primary Children's Hospital in SLC for 2 years. She had her sweet baby Trey in September and LOVES bein' a mama. Now she just works part-time. Her husband is finishing up his Master's in Accounting this April and plans to work for Deloitte in SLC afterwards.

How did you meet your husband? 
"We were in the same BYU single's ward while living in the Elms in 2010. My missionary left and he swept me off my feet and we started dating a week later... Haha. We quickly fell in love and spent every day together. Got married June 17, 2011."

Where did you get married?
"Salt Lake Temple. We were sealed by my husband's grandpa."

What are some of your hobbies? 
"Any kind of exercise, but especially running. I Love to train for half-marathons. I Also love reading, crafting, shopping of all kinds, road biking, hiking, tennis, camping...basically anything outdoors."

What's your favorite food?
"Any kind of chocolate. Spicy Mexican food."

What's something that most people don't know about you?
"I worked at Red Robin all throughout college as a server. I was the red robin mascot on several occasions. My favorite times were at the Little League World Series in SLC. I raced other mascots around the bases during the 7th inning stretches."

What are some of your favourite books/movies/music/TV shows? 
"Love Harry Potter and always will-I'm currently rereading all of them. I love to try out anything on best seller lists though. Movies...love me some girly chick flicks and hunger games. TV shows- can't get enough of the Goldbergs, Modern Family, or Friends. And okay I'll admit it... I'm a devoted Bachelor watcher...much to my husband's dismay. ;)"

Anything else you'd like to share?
"I probably love Holidays more than 90% of the population does. I'm obsessed. Also love my Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel :)"

Meet Chalese Adams!


Chalese Adams has been in the ward since June 2013 and is currently majoring in Nursing and Recreational Therapy at BYU. She works for the Marriott school as a TA for a few different professors and has her own business (ByChalese) where she makes lots of accessories like baby booties, headbands, other hair accessories, stuffed animals and bow ties (Chalese is on Instagram, Facebook, and Etsy).

How did you meet your husband? 
"David and I met on our way back to BYU. My friend that I rode home had her car break down and David had also gone home that weekend. After a couple phone calls it was decided that David would take my friend and her two other passengers back to Provo. So after not knowing each other our whole lives we finally met and everything else is history."

Where did you get married?
"In the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple on October 13, 2012."

What are some of your hobbies? 
"I love to play tennis, volleyball, read, shop, crochet, and do other crafts. I also love to organize and babysit small children."

What's your favorite food?
"I love lasagna and my husband can attest that I like anything sweet (like candy, yum)"

What's something that most people don't know about you?
"I have my own business (it's official because I have business cards) and that I'm actually in the ward."

What are some of your favorite books/movies/music/TV shows? 
"I love books written by Gerald Lund, Margaret Peterson Haddix, and Dean Hughes. I love Disney movies and romantic comedies. Country music is my thing (but I also like Sara Barreilles and Colbie Caillat). I don't watch much TV but I do watch Once Upon A Time and I recently binge watched Switched at Birth."

Today's Spotlight: Tess Fontanetti Rice


Tess has been in the ward since April 2014 and is Graduating with a BA in Music from BYU!

Here are some questions we asked her:

How did you meet your husband?
"Working at a BYU call center. He was in to me and I had a boyfriend. He left on his mission, and I left on my mission 2 weeks before he got back. I wrote him twice on his mission, and he wrote me twice on mine. He even sent me money to go out to eat for my birthday (he loves to tell people that he took me on a date on my mission). After I got back we both still worked at the call center and then started dating. 5 years after we first met, we were married."


Where did you get married?
Mt. Timpanogos Temple, Utah. December 21, 2013. 

What are some of your hobbies? 
"Soccer, running, sleeping, eating (but seriously), reading, crocheting (my husband makes fun of me for it)."

What's your favorite food?
"Beans and rice! Or popcorn. I can always eat popcorn."

What's something that most people don't know about you?
"I still have baby teeth, and my parents moved to Utah from Brazil just before I was born. All my extended family still lives there."

What are some of your favorite books/movies/music/TV shows? 
"Books: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
Not sure about movies. 
I never get sick of Gilmore Girls."

Lucky Charms Munch

Need a fun colorful Easter treat idea? Or just a delicious treat? You will LOVE this. Warning... it is very addicting.


Lucky Charms Munch


YIELD: 6 Cups
 
PREP TIME: 10 minutes
 
TOTAL TIME: 25 minutes


Ingredients:

  • 1 box Lucky Charms cereal
  • 6 cups pretzel sticks
  • 8 ounces white chocolate baking bars
  • (9 oz.) bag of M&M's
  • 1/4 cup colored sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup of each pink, yellow, and green candy melts

Directions:

STEP 1: Pour box of cereal out onto a large baking sheet. Pick out all the marshmallows; set aside.
STEP 2: In a large bowl mix the pretzels, M&M's, and marshmallows together.
STEP 3: In a medium microwavable bowl, microwave white chocolate chips for about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until chips are completely melted. Pour over mixture and toss until evenly coated.
STEP 4: Spread mixture in single layer on baking sheet. Immediately sprinkle with candy sprinkles and drizzle with melted pink, yellow, and green candy melts. Let stand until set, about 15 minutes. Gently break up mixture and enjoy!
*Store Lucky Charms Munch in a covered container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Say hello to our next spotlight: Diana Anderson!



Diana is currently raising her adorable baby girl and getting her master's degree in Chemistry at BYU!

How did you meet you husband?
"We met on pioneer trek as youth in 2007. He couldn't resist me in my bonnet and apron. We dated for about 18 months and then took a break when I went to the UNiversity of FLorida and he came here to BYU. We served our missions at the same time and wrote to eachother throughout and make quick work of deciding to get married when we got back."

Where did you get married?
Denver Co, Temple

What are some of your hobbies?
"Aside from snuggling my baby girl, I love sports, especially football. I also play volleyball and soccer and pretty much everything. I love music- I sang in a competitive acapella group throughout college  and play piano and guitar (but not super well). And I love chemistry. Weird. I know."

What's your favorite food?
"Milk. I could drink milk all day long."

What's something that most people don't know about you?
"I really hate bugs- like really really hate them. I'm not scared of the dark, or big scary men, or a ball flying at my face, or pain or anything really. But I can't handle bugs. "
